IS YOUR RENOVATION FEASIBLE? TAKE 5 MINUTES TO FIND OUT.

hello from

HAZEL STREET house

the story

Yay for another Greater Purpose House, made homey by Chris and I. This home was renovated in the winter of 2017. Through those cold, wintery days, the Greater Purpose team demoed, dreamed and designed this home.

“The creative process is not like a situation where you get struck by a single lightening bolt. You have ongoing discoveries, and there’s ongoing creative revelations. Yes, it’s really helpful to be marching toward a specific destination, but, along the way, you must allow yourself room for your ideas to blossom, take root, and grow.” –Carlton Cuse

And that’s kind of what the inspiration process for this house was like. There were problems that crept up along the way- that’ll just happen when you’re renovating an old house. However, these problems can stimulate new ideas. And these new ideas can create further discoveries.

So, it was a process.

But finally the renovation was complete, made beautiful be white brick, midcentury modern style and hardwood floors. (eye candy)

Chris and I jumped into staging this project with lots of dreams and excitement. We wanted an open, airy space but full of elements that invited people in. And you can judge by yourself by the photos below.

Open House day was a hit. Café One Eight supplied coffee, and we had lovely weather.

The home was sold several weeks later. And just between you and me, I still miss this home terribly.
