RICO THE CAMPER VAN AIRBNB: A CREATIVE TAKE ON MAKING MEMORIES

the story

I think we all crave simpler experiences, whether we admit it or not.

We crave more quiet, less noise. More people, less screens. More windows down, less blasting of an air conditioner. Ok, maybe the last one isn’t universal.

But there’s something about getting away from the things that dictate and shape life- to really experience life.

Drum roll…

Enter Rico the van- a 1970’s retro camper-van.

Indulging in simple, technology, family-focused kinds of escapes is hard to do, but so worth it. I mean, we just flew out to LA for two weeks and left our team to handle all the moving pieces. And it was worth it. And we bought a camper with zero gadgets. And it was worth it.

I once heard a quote, “Edit your life frequently and ruthlessly. It’s your masterpiece after all.” (Nathan W. Morris)

When you edit your life to give you more meaningful, memorable experiences, it will be worth it.

Whether you’re renting an Airbnb camper van or going on a vacation or simply turning off your phone for an hour or two- make margin to experience life.

And when I say experience life, it won’t always look like picnic blankets next to a quiet, humming camper van with orange pin stripes. Don’t get unrealistic in your pursuit of experiencing life- vans DO break down sometimes and kids do trip and fall sometimes and their knees do bleed sometimes, and there are no band-aids to be found sometimes.

Making margin to experience life is not about having a perfect day. But it’s about giving yourself space and time to make memories with real people in real time.

To see this space up close and in person, rent it out through Airbnb.

with love, Claude
