We’ve loved the opportunity we’ve had to take our family on vacation, and the way that airbnb has opened up opportunities for our family to stay in an entire house, cook together and really have a space of our own. And if you’ve followed us for some time now, you know that we have experience as hosts on airbnb as well. We love working with people and hosting their stay. So whether you’re from Lancaster and looking for a nearby vacation, or you’re traveling to PA to visit – we recommend these airbnbs for you.

ODE TO THE 70’S HOUSE

Our very own airbnb. This newly renovated 4 bedroom, 2 bath home is furnished with some of our favorite vintage & modern pieces – in honor of the past & in the joy of creating spaces that inspire creativity & life. Its unique character might remind you of your grandma’s house, but will most definitely invite you to relax, inspire you to explore and keep you wondering what’s around the corner.

We recently completed the basement for more private space. The bright chairs, cozy bedroom and open bathroom will have you wondering if your even in a basement

The house is located at the end of long lane, set back from the road for privacy. It’s complete with a yard, fire-pit and outdoor pool.

FREEDOM HOUSE

Justin Rule (who has also helped us with our website) was looking for an investment property and we were excited to help him find a space to use for short term rentals. He wanted a property that could tell a story, but also be comfortable for guests to stay. We found all of that at the Freedom house, a 5 bedroom, 2 bath, 3300+ SF masterpiece located in the beautiful rivertown of Columbia, PA.

LEARN MORE ABOUT THE STORY HERE

The house is rich with history. Built in 1876 by a Civil War survivor – William Hougentogler – it sits next to the Mount Bethel Cemetery (1730), and is only a one block’s walk from the library, park, and exciting eateries, antique shops, boutiques, gift shops, micro-breweries, and artisan shops where you can enjoy endless local fare.

The home’s underground partial tunnel and secret attic room behind a false bookcase have locals wondering if there is any Underground Railroad history connected with the home, but that is yet to be verified.

RENEW ON WALNUT

When Lloyd and Mary Ellen came to us looking for a property that they could rent out short term, our team right away started looking for properties all over Lancaster County. They were very pleased when we helped them purchase this fully furnished 3 bedroom, 2 bath house that sleeps 6 in downtown Lancaster. It was already running as an airbnb, so it didn’t take them long to flip it and start making some money on the house.

The completely renovated three story historic row home within walking distance of downtown Lancaster. A charming house with a spacious living room, dining room and fully equipped kitchen makes for a comfortable stay for any couple or group of guests.

The original hardwood floor and exposed brick help to highlight the historical element of the 100 year old house. But the new appliances and fresh paint and furniture keeps you comfortable with all the modern amenities.

THE RAILROAD MASTER’S HOME

Another one of our projects that we had the privilege of working on from start to finish. The Railroad Masters house was definitely a fixer-upper. But we enjoyed working in the house, keeping some of the history throughout the project.

THE INDUSTRIAL INSPIRED ATTIC

Our final recommendation for today is our own cozy attic airbnb. We highly recommend this eclectic & inspirational house to writers, artists and musicians. It is located along busy Rt. 322 in the unique, little town of Honey Brook.

A darling studio-sized loft apartment was custom designed by us (Chris and Claude). It was one of our first renovations, and we’ve actually even lived in it for a time. And guess what- it has even been the location of an Urban Outfitters Photoshoot.

This Loft includes a living room, kitchen, dining room, bedroom & bathroom. We’re proud of this authentic & enchanting, industrial styled space. We’ve decorated it with natural & organic elements, including textured, raw wall which gives one the feeling of being tucked away in a fairy tale.

CONCLUSION

We could list another dozen airbnbs that we love in Lancaster and Chester Country, but we’ll stop for now. We personally love hosting people and believe that Pennsylvania is worth visiting. So whether you’re coming to see the Amish and the farmers lifestyle. Or your looking to stay in a quant city filled with American history – we hope that you can relax and enjoy your stay in one of these airbnbs.
